EWS Chartered Surveyors was formed in 1991 by George
Woodward, the firm's Managing Director, and two other
chartered surveyors and the company is now owned and
run by four directors who, collectively, have over 100
years experience in the East Anglian property market.
Each director heads up a distinct strand of the business
- Commercial Agency, Consultancy & Development,
Professional Services and Property Management - together
with fee-earning staff members and administrative /
financial support staff.
Due to expansion, the firm moved in February 2006 to
its present office, an attractive listed Georgian building
in Lower Brook Street, Ipswich which links the heart
of the town centre with Ipswich's major regeneration
area, The Waterfront.
EWS enjoys a reputation of 'punching above its weight'
in terms of the size and complexity of many of the projects
the company is involved in. The firm is small enough
to provide its clients with a distinctly personal service
yet big enough to take on large and complex jobs. Two
of the directors previously worked for the leading national
firm, Healey & Baker, now Cushman & Wakefield.
The directors and staff of EWS offer a potent blend
of knowledge & experience combined with youthful
enthusiasm enabling the firm to provide a comprehensive
range of property services to assist, to advise, and
to 'add value' in respect of the property interests
of its wide range of clients -from private individuals
to major plc's - which includes Akzo Nobel (formerly
ICI Paints Ltd.), Britannia Building Society, East of
England Co-operative Society, Equity Estates plc, Fred.
Olsen Group of Companies, HSBC Bank, ISG Jackson Ltd,
RG Carter, SEH Group and Suffolk Life plc. (part of
L & G).

EWS is a member firm of the Royal Institution
